Since my "In Her Prime" series focused on outfits, here's some headshots of those same nine characters. This was great practice for me with different facial types and skin tones, skills in which I am sadly lacking.

Top row: Arianne Martell, Margaery Tyrell, Melisandre of Asshai
Middle row: Daenerys Targaryen, Catelyn Tully Stark, Cersei Lannister
Bottom row: Lyanna Stark, Ygritte of the Free Folk, Asha Greyjoy

The series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire and all characters therein belong to George R.R. Martin, the author.

I really like this, but Daenerys (She's my favorite character^^) looks like an old woman^^°
I know that it's not easy to draw a young girl with that hair, but the cheeks and the chin might make her even older in your drawing. I imagine her face to be more... round.
But, anyway, I like the way you did the other ones =)

Thank you for commenting! I still haven't gotten the hang of painting, so your feedback is helpful.

I think the show should keep to Martins descriptions and not add other ethnicitys due to political correctness or some quotas. Seems to me they already did that with black people in the Mongolian-like Dothraki people and casting a black guy for the pale "Milk Man" Xaro Xhoan Daxos.
Before, I was really excited how this really pale people would look like... i imagined them like really pale Japanese-like people.

And of course there are also darker people like the Dornish or the black people from the Summer Islands, e.g. Chataya and her daughter or Jalabhar Xho. They could have included them in the show.

Nice drawing btw! I like to see all the different hair and eye colours as described in the books!

There will be many more opportunities for the casting of a wide range of ethnicities as the show progresses, particularly with Dany's travels on the eastern continent. Also, if we make it to season 3 we ought to see Oberyn and his retinue arriving at King's Landing. Season 5 (since book 3 will be split into two seasons) will give us a couple of POVs in Dorne. Season 1 showed a much narrower range of locations than the whole series actually encompasses. Viewers just need to hang in there.

I agree with you -- the work is what it is, and shouldn't change characters' ethnicities just to fill a quota and keep the PCers happy. I personally quite like the change of the Qartheen to a dark-skinned people; reading the books, I kept forgetting that they were supposed to be pale and imagined them otherwise.

Anyway, thank you for the compliment on the drawing! :)

Dude, I know Brienne's ugly and thus not fun to draw, but she's important and kind of awesome. I wish you didn't leave her out.

...I didn't leave her out on purpose. I started out doing only the top three, then four more, and tossed in Ygritte and Asha just to round out the 3x3 square. There are a lot of other female characters in the series; I couldn't possibly draw them all! :) I do plan to draw Brienne at some point.

Bah, sorry if I came across rude or something. I didn't mean to. It was a great drawing. I just feel like Bri's left out a lot for all the wrong reasons.

This is great! I really love the drawings of Arianne and Lyanna especially.

I kind of wish the show was as diverse as your drawings are. It bugs me how many white people, or rather how few non-whites, are traipsing across that show. :D
