One

A character from a story of mine, which was once just silly (and rather stupid) and has blossomed into (arguably) one of my best, and certainly among my most prized, stories. I really think I actually might finish this one. Seriously! Only three or four people have ever read it but their feedback has been super-encouraging. I'm hoping to complete this series of drawings by similarly fleshing out Rose's seven compatriots.

Anyway, this is Rose, better known as Mod One, who looks human but is animated by a computer chip imbedded in her brain. The hobbles are more symbolic than effective.

Inspired by the art of Emily Carroll, who never fails to make my chin hit the floor.
